On June 10, Consensys CEO Joe Lubin announced that Ethereum is transforming into a protocol entirely based on zero-knowledge proofs.
▫️ Fixing Fragmentation: ZK-technology will unite the main blockchain and L2 rollups into a single, synchronous environment.
▫️ No Bridges Needed: Cross-network transactions will become instant and atomic, completely bypassing the need for cross-chain bridges.
▫️ Speed Boost: Layer 1 validators will only need to verify compact ZK-proofs, pushing mainnet throughput past 10,000 TPS.
The tech is already being tested in Linea and Gnosis, while major banks (Citi, BNY Mellon) are deploying similar solutions for future integration with Ethereum.
